I LOVE SHAKIRA
This is MY video from MANY years ago. (2010?) I'm the instructor in the white pants/black top. This is NOT Zumba Gold. It was an awareness event put on by Shakira & Zumba to help African children. We were given a bit of choreography and then we did the rest. This Video has been snagged and reposted all over the Internet. Anyhow, as the instructor & choreographer -this isn't Gold. (I teach Gold too I would have much different choreo if it was.)
Ive been teaching Gold for a very long time, this isn't it. Too many high impact moves and cross overs…I would NEVER use this in my classes
This is NOT Gold choreo. TOO, TOO, TOO, much jumping.
There's no excuse for all the bad exercise videos on YouTube f or seniors. If you are just starting I suggest Corey Roos for yoga, the American an heat association 3 mile walk, and weight watchers 2mile walk.
cute choreo, but way too much hopping for Gold. Make sure if you are doing this for Gold, you take out the hops and make the moves smaller.

I liked it and found the video easy to follow. I did have to remind myself it "is" a choreographed routine for you tube. I agree there needs to be cueing, verbal and visual………..also modifications for those who can't do the jumps and crossovers.
But it's titled 'Zumba Gold'. This wouldn't even be 'low impact'. For instance, at .59 the instructor has both feet off the floor (briefly), There are several moves that would not be recommended for seniors, at 1.24 and 2.14. This isn't bad choreography in general, but it isn't appropriately 'Gold'.

Very reminiscent of JazzExercise/Judi Shepard-Missett. Nice thing about Zumba or any dance workout is the cardio benefits. As long as you're moving and maintain a consistent heart rate, you're helping build endurance. I like yoga and pilates, but not the same vis a vis cardiovascular boost.

this is perfect for my zumba gold- minus the jumping part. We will just do basic merengue march there. Thanks -good job.
Totally agree with earlier comments. No ballistic movements for seniors. I hope you're not a physical therapist.
It's true the jumping is not appropriate for seniors, but I saw nothing wrong with the rest of the routine.
